Wales Fertility Institute to resume new IVF treatment

The Wales Fertility Institute has confirmed that it plans to restart new IVF treatment from 22 September, following a temporary suspension caused by staffing shortages.

The pause was announced on 28 August after the HFEA advised the service to stop starting new treatments because staffing levels meant regulatory requirements could not be met.

Existing patients who had already started treatment continued to receive care during the suspension.

Patients affected by the pause should be contacted directly with information about their individual treatment arrangements and next steps.

We hope this phased reopening provides reassurance for patients waiting to continue their treatment.
