Congratulations to Nicki Robinson from TFP Simply Fertility who has won the inaugural Clare Lewis-Jones award for excellence in patient care. The panel were impressed by Nicki’s thoughtfulness and innovation which clearly came across in the nominations. Nicki was praised as someone who always put patient wellbeing and experience first.
The award was given by Fertility Alliance Trustee and Chair of the British Infertility Counselling Association, Angela Pericleous-Smith, at the Fertility 26 conference in Edinburgh. This annual award honours not only Clare Lewis-Jones’ legacy as a pioneering patient advocate, but also celebrates the qualities she believed were essential in patient care.
The nominations for the award all came from fertility patients past and present, and the shortlisted nominees and winner were decided by a patient panel. The other shortlisted fertility clinic staff were Benjamin Jones from the Lister Fertility Clinic, Charlotte Moodey from Care Fertility London and Lisa Morgan from Bristol Fertility Clinic – all of whom had shown outstanding patient care. It wasn’t easy to select the shortlist or winner from the fabulous nominations and it was clear that many people are making a real difference for their patients in clinics across the country.
