Thank you to Navendu Mishra MP for hosting The Fertility Alliance and British Fertility Society at the House of Commons earlier this week to brief MPs on access to NHS fertility treatment.
We were joined by other supportive MPs including Andrew Griffith MP (Arundel and South Downs), Olivia Blake MP (Sheffield Hallam), Dr Caroline Johnson MP (Sleaford and North Hykeham), Kate Osborne MP (Jarrow and Gateshead East), and Liz Twist MP (Blaydon and Consett)
This important discussion centred on the newly published joint BFS / Fertility Alliance report: “Ending IVF Inequity: A Business Case for Change” (October 2025) https://shorturl.at/jkdz7
The business case calls for all Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in England to implement the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidance on fertility treatment – providing three fully funded IVF cycles for eligible patients, as recommended by NICE for over two decades and reaffirmed in its draft 2025 update, now open for consultation.
It was a great day and we’ll be working together in the future to push for equity and fairness when it comes to fertility funding.
